About
Born in Berlin, Germany, I studied acoustic guitar, electric guitar and percussion. I have experience with different musical genres and groups, from solo recitals of classical and popular music to big-band performances. I performed also at the Schiller Theatre, at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin and some experimental music ensembles and theatre companies.
Attracted by Brazilian music, I immigrated to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where I currently live. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, a Master of Arts degree in Brazilian Popular Music, and a Doctor of Music degree from UNIRIO, with a thesis on Theodor Adorno's Theory of Musical Reproduction and the legacy of the Vienna School.
My post-doctoral activities focuse basically on issues related to musical interpretation, performance experience and cognition. I seek also for a public or a private institution that allows me to consolidate teaching with my research project. This includes: Musical Interpretation, Theory of Interpretation, Musical Performance, Performance Theory, Aesthetics, and their interfaces to Education, Art and Culture in Modern Society.
